Join us for a special weekend at the Dean Forest Railway as the world of the “Forest Railway Stories” returns to the railway once again! 🚂🌲Travel through the beautiful Forest of Dean aboard our steam trains and heritage DMU services while enjoying a weekend filled with storytelling, entertainment, model railways, and family activities inspired by the book series and the railway itself.
This year’s event will also mark the release of the sixth “Forest Railway Stories” book, which will be available during the weekend.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the author of the books, keep an eye out for Wilbur Wabbit and friends around the railway, and enjoy a variety of attractions at Norchard station throughout the day.
Activities across the weekend will include:
• Storytelling sessions on the platform
• Live entertainment at Norchard station
• Model railway displays
• Brake-van rides behind Gladys the diesel locomotive
• A chance to meet “Uskmouth”, the DFR’s first engine!
• Competitions and family activities across the railway
Whether you are a railway enthusiast, a reader of the books, or simply looking for a family day out during the summer holidays, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The railway will be open from 10:00 each day, with activities taking place throughout the weekend.
All standard steam tickets include travel on the heritage DMU services at no extra cost.
