Prior to Ohio Statehood, it was said that a squirrel could leap from tree to tree from the Michigan border all the way to the Ohio River without touching the ground. The forests of Ohio have seen dramatic changes since the beginning of pioneer settlement. Join us in the Hankinson Great Room of W.W. Knight Nature Preserve as we delve into the historical forest types, the wildlife they supported and where they stand today.
This program is a part of the America 250 celebration in Wood County. In remembrance of the 250th birthday of the United States, this program series showcases the history of Wood County and as well as boosting the community spirit through outdoor activities and events!
