Forest Church

Forest Church is a sacred gathering that invites you into communion with God in creation. This donation-based offering begins at the Angel of Shavano trailhead with a gentle 1-mile round-trip contemplative prayer walk to the prayer waterfall—forest bathing as an act of worship.

Afterward, we'll gather inside a canvas tabernacle tent for a meditative sound bath and breath-centered stillness. Held on land that has been faithfully stewarded for five generations, during this donation-based offering, we’ll enter into prayerful presence, listening for the voice of the One who created us.

Come as you are.

🌲Bring a yoga mat or blanket for sitting and sturdy walking shoes (hiking boots not required).

🌲The weather can change quickly, please dress accordingly.

🌲The waterfall hike is weather-dependent, but the soundbath in the tabernacle tent will happen rain or shine unless there is extreme weather (such as lightning, heavy snow, or wildfire risk). See FAQs for more details.

🌲Hot herbal tea will be provided at the end of the gathering.

Whether you’re a Salida local or a traveler passing through, this is a sacred invitation to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with the Creator in the cathedral of trees.

👉 When: 1-2:30pm MT. We will start promptly at 1:00pm. Please arrive a little early to check in and use the restroom prior to the start of the hike.

About your host: Jennifer Axcell is an experience designer, retreat host, soundbath musician, and the visionary behind Loto Wellness Collective.

The fourth of five generations to call Salida home, Jennifer now stewards this sacred land through Forest Church—an invitation to return to the wild wisdom of God’s creation and encounter the Holy in the stillness of the forest.

Her work weaves together Christian mysticism, nervous system healing, nature connection, and sacred ceremony. As a trained facilitator in both spiritual and somatic modalities, she gently guides others back to their own inner sanctuary—to the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit—through rest, ritual, and reverent embodiment.

Jennifer believes healing is holy. That silence is sacred. And that when we attune to the rhythms of the earth, we begin to hear the voice of God more clearly.
