Shinrin in Japanese means 'forest', and yoku means 'bath'. Shinrin-yoku means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. This is not taking a bath in the forest!

In addition to the mindfulness benefits, the air chemistry carries beneficial essential oils, known as phytoncides. So, inhaling these beneficial oils is an important aspect of Forest Bathing, along with slowing down and immersing yourself in nature.

Participants are guided through a series of sensory exercises designed to develop a deeper connection with nature. Each Forest Bathing session concludes with a guided mindfulness relaxation.

The session runs for 2 hours and is finished with a closing circle for us to reflect on the experience. We will sit with a cup of Herbal Tea and soak in the atmosphere and energy of the group.

People will have opportunities to openly reflect on their own experience if they wish!
