About this Event
OK, keep your clothes on. It isn't that kind of bathing!
Studies throughout Japan, Germany and expanding across the globe show that time in nature can improve:
Mental Health: reduce stress, improve mood (especially reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression), improve attention, and enhance feelings of relaxation.
Physical Health: lower blood pressure, improved cardiovascular health, and stronger immune function.
Cognitive Benefits: improve concentration, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This is partly due to the restorative effects of nature, which help the brain recover from mental fatigue.
Social and Community: fosters social interaction, reduces loneliness, and strengthens community cohesion.
Global perspective
The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) highlights that biodiversity and ecosystem services, including access to natural environments, are essential for human well-being. Protecting and expanding green spaces is therefore a key policy recommendation for improving public health and resilience
Join me for a meander through our green spaces. We will connect to nature with each of our senses, explore some mindful body movement and participate in the art of everyday living while we learn a thing or two about a thing or two in the process!
