About this Event

Join me at High Park on Saturday July 11th from 9:30am-12pm, where we'll learn a bit about the black oak savannah before diving into the practice of forest bathing.

never heard of forest bathing?

it’s a somatic and relational nature therapy practice that supports our wellbeing through guided immersion in our environment--getting us out of our minds and i no nto our feeling, sensing bodies.

some of the benefits:

  • notice in a way that restores our attention, creativity, concentration, and our mood
  • greater sense of connectedness, and
  • perhaps a greater degree of freedom in how we relate to the world

what to expect:

  • During our time together, we'll spend time in the savannah slowly wander, travelling less than 1.5km, yet venturing far.
  • You'll be guided through a series of invitations that offer an opportunity to experience nature in new ways. Connect with the sounds, smells, textures, sights, and heart of the landscape; becoming part of it.
  • Each invitation is followed by a gathering circle to reflect and share as a collective.
  • We'll end of our time together with a forest tea, including a drink and snack before crossing back over the threshold to our modern busy world.

your guide:
ness (she/they), is a certified nature and forest therapy guide, urban naturalist, and lover of trees (in fact, they often go by sycamore when in nature). A storyteller and co-creator who lives into the whimsical, they have a deep desire to shine light for others to find belonging. As a guide, they are a key, opening the door to what can be experienced when you cross the threshold into the natural world.
