Forensic genetic research - A 20 year retrospectiveDr Nick Dawnay is an Associate Professor in Forensic Genetics at Liverpool John Moores University. For the last 20 years he has worked at the forefront of the field managing, advising, and supporting key forensic research projects that have supported the criminal justice system. His presentation at Chester SciBar will cover key projects and impact including the development of DNA typing systems to support wildlife crime investigations, the creation and commercialisation of field portable DNA instrumentation for human DNA testing at crime scenes, the work his research group is doing to support police investigations into livestock attacks, and the outcome of his recent work on the UKRI funded SCAnDi project which looks to identify individuals from single cells.
