About this Event
Embark on a cultural odyssey at the Forbidden Cultural Center in Cuenca, Ecuador! Conceived in February 1996 by artist Eduardo Moscoso, this dynamic venue challenges norms by spotlighting alternative artistic expressions, including themes deemed controversial like sexuality, death, and religion. Initially met with skepticism and vandalism, the center has evolved into a celebration of diverse cultures and forbidden narratives.
As a museum, it proudly displays Eduardo Moscoso's works alongside those of his children and fellow artists, creating a kaleidoscope of perspectives. Venture beyond the conventional as the center, since 2016, has become a global hub for collaboration, welcoming national and international artists exploring various cultural realms such as Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Musical Arts, and Audiovisuals.
Journey into the Forbidden Cultural Center, where cultural exploration knows no bounds, and forbidden stories find a voice.
Announcing a NEW WAY TO DONATE! We are releasing 2020's Cuisine of Different Cultures E-Cookbook to you for a $10 donation towards Atlantic Institute. When you make your donation, the cookbook will be emailed to you the day of the program you are participating in. This cookbook is packed with over 15 creative recipes that launched us into the online world of our cooking demonstrations during the time of Covid. This was a time that all of us were coming together to learn how to cook something different and interesting with limited resources on hand so this cookbook is full of interesting recipes you will want to have by your side.
If you aren't into cooking like we are, we are still accepting and are super appreciative of coffee!
