This is a guided mushroom walk for all those interested in discovering the various fungi in our area. Participants will get up close and personal with mushroom species that thrive in this unique environment and also mixed woods. Overlooking the Merrimack River, Moseley Woods is a 16-acre public park featuring hiking trails and a diverse environment. Join us for this interesting class and learn about the amazing Fungi Kingdom right outside your door! *Depending upon the weather at that time, the amount and variety of mushrooms to be discovered will vary. Jana Harris of Essex Forays is certified in Wild Mushroom Food Safety and member of Boston Mycological Club. Jana hails from Czechoslovakia and as a child, she foraged for mushrooms with her aunt and rediscovered her love of all things Fun(gi). Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle, tick and bug repellent, ID field guide, and basket (optional). Must be in good physical health and feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain on hiking trails.
