Foraging for Friends July 2026

We are SO VERY excited for our July 2026 foraging gathering!
It is called “Foraging for Friends” because we believe in the importance of developing relationships with the plant life around us, as well as connecting other humans with each other! COMMUNITY!
All ages are welcome. We do ask that you leave your fur babies at home (dogs) because they can be a distraction and if multiple people bring their dogs it can become problematic.
Your safety is 100% your responsibility and no one will be held liable if an accident occurs.
While there will be people there with a bounty of knowledge on local and native plants - the point of this gathering is for us to develop our own relationships with any plants that call to us.
Here is how you can prepare for this gathering:
Eat breakfast or bring snacks with you! It is hot out there and you will get hungry quickly if you don’t eat before you come.
Bring foraging books! Please reach out to us for recommendations
A protective hat to shade your face and eyes from the sun
A blanket, sheet, or mat if you find an area that you would like to sit and spend time in
WATER AND SNACKS - please try and eat before you come as it can get hot out there and you’ll be thankful for the extra energy!
There will be ticks out here so I suggest wearing long pants that can tuck into your shoes and perhaps even long sleeves. Keeping your hair tied back and covered helps to keep ticks out of your hair.
The goal of this gathering is for us to TAKE OUR TIME and spend it in nature. In my opinion, the best and most fun way to learn is hands-on experience. You are both the teacher and the student here. You will learn new things and be able to share them with those around you.
Some people bring notebooks and pens/pencils to take notes and make drawings of the plants!
This gathering will be Sunday July 5th 2026.
We will meet at the Hiram Faver Trailhead
Parking at the ranger station by the campground
If you have any questions, please call/text Kelly Woodhouse at (904)-806-4364 OR leave a comment.
Remember to join the Facebook group: @The Herbal Alliance of St. Augustine
Looking forward!
