Footprints of Change: Veerni 5k Run/Walk

At Acumen, we are proud to support the Veerni Project, a remarkable initiative transforming the lives of girls in rural Rajasthan, India, through education and opportunity. For every participant, Acumen, part of Sannam S4 Group, will donate $35 to the Veerni Literacy programme.

Time: 7 am EDT (please meet 5-10 minutes before)

Meeting place: Southeastern parking pull-off (red circle on map)

This is a relaxed, inclusive run/walk designed for all fitness levels.

The route will follow a loop around the pond located directly north of the North/South Building at the Orange County Convention Centre.

• Format: Loop-based course, allowing participants to go at their own pace

About the Veerni Literacy Programme

Since 1993, the Veerni Project has worked to ensure that girls from disadvantaged communities can grow up educated, healthy, and confident. Through its two flagship programmes – the Veerni Institute and Veerni Balika – the organisation provides quality education, healthcare, nutrition, and life skills to more than 100 girls each year from remote desert villages around Jodhpur.

Through initiatives globally – like the Veerni Run/Walk in Orlando – Acumen teams and partners from around the world have come together to make a difference.

Veerni Run – Participant Waiver & Release

By registering for and/or participating in the Veerni Run (“the Event”), I acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, disability, property damage, and death. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, including those that may arise from the negligence of Acumen, Veerni, event partners, sponsors, volunteers, or any affiliated individuals or organisations (“Released Parties”).

2. Waiver and Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge the Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, injury, disability, death, or property damage that I may suffer in connection with my participation in the Event.

3. Consent for Personal Data

I consent to the collection, processing, storage, and use of my personal data by the Released Parties for the administration and operation of the Event. This includes, where relevant, use for medical purposes, emergency contact, media and communications, and other purposes outlined in this Waiver. Such processing will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

4. Medical Authorization

In the event of an injury or medical emergency during my participation, I authorize the Released Parties to secure medical assistance, treatment, and emergency transport as deemed necessary. I waive and release all liability related to any such medical care or decisions taken in good faith.

5. Media Release

I grant the Released Parties irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, and royalty-free permission to record, photograph, or otherwise capture my participation in the Event. I agree that any such images, videos, or media may be used for promotional, reporting, or any other legitimate purpose without compensation to me.

Acknowledgment

By signing or submitting my registration, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Waiver & Release. I understand that this document affects my legal rights and I accept it voluntarily.
