Learn about adaptations and identify prairie plants.
Did you know that hundreds of years ago southwest Michigan was on the very edge of the Great Plains? The Plains were also called Prairies, and Drake Farmstead has one today! Come walk through the tall grass prairie and learn about the unique adaptations of these prairie plants and how they drew the indigenous people and settlers to this area.
It should be around 3/4 of a mile walk on gentle trails, with hands-on activities along the way. Participants will also receive a small take-home item.
Meet Lorri at Drake Farmstead's Oshtemo Rotary Pavilion at 10:00am
