Football Photography Workshop with TCP Photography

We’re excited to offer another unique opportunity to photograph D3 college football from the sidelines! 🏈

Join us on September 26th where Case Western Reserve University takes on Washington & Jefferson College, where we are giving photographers a chance to experience the game from the field. Kick-off starts at 7PM.

This is a hands-on photography workshop designed to give you the opportunity to shoot like a professional sports photographer.

What's Included:

• Stadium entry

• Sideline & end-zone access

• One-on-one instruction from pro-sports photographerTim Phillis of TCP Photography!

• Designated photographer positions around the field

• Professional guidance on camera settings

• Help spotting plays and anticipating the action

• Pregame festivities, warm-ups, cheerleaders, band and fans

• Live game action from the field

Because this is a night game, we’ll put a major emphasis on working with the existing stadium lighting and getting your camera settings dialed in for fast-moving action.

📓What we’ll cover:

• White balance under stadium lighting

• Aperture/F-stop and available light

• Shutter speed for freezing action

• ISO and exposure

• Anticipating plays and positioning yourself for the shot

📷 What should you bring?

Participants should have a solid understanding of manual camera settings.

Longer and faster lenses are strongly recommended. Ideal options include:

• 70–200mm

• 300mm

• 400mm

• 100–500mm or similar zoom

• Wide-angle lenses for unique perspectives of the band, cheerleaders, fans and game action

☔Rain or Shine

Participants are responsible for their own camera equipment and should come prepared for changing fall weather. The workshop will take place rain or shine, so dress appropriately and protect your gear.

Due to NCAA requirements, we can only accommodate a limited number of photographers. We expect this workshop to sell out quickly, early registration is strongly recommended.
