About this Event
The Being Brummie podcast team invites you to a panel discussion about critical issues impacting Birmingham today. We’ll be talking about local politics, race and identity in the city, and the powerful role football plays in shaping community life - sometimes adding to tensions, but often helping to bring people together.
Building on themes from the Being Brummie podcast, the event will celebrate Birmingham’s rich football culture and its long history of migration, diversity, and race relations. Join academics, voices from Birmingham’s football community, and local community leaders as they explore how the politics of the past connect to the issues we see today, and what we can learn from those parallels.
Dress code: football kits encouraged!
