About this Event
Foot-Ankle Strength and Conditioning: From Rehab to Sport PerformanceJoin us at the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC) for a 1-day, hands-on course designed to boost your expertise in foot-ankle strength and conditioning.
As the body’s first interface with the ground, the foot-ankle complex is central to human movement. From running and jumping to cutting and accelerating, it plays a vital role in absorbing impact, generating power, and transferring force.
Over the past decade, research has highlighted the crucial contribution of the triceps surae and extrinsic foot muscles in optimizing energy efficiency and propulsion. For therapists, the challenge lies in effectively assessing and strengthening these muscles for both rehabilitation and performance.
Through my new foot-ankle biomechanical rehab and performance framework, this course will give you the tools to:
- Objectively assess the maximal strength of the "stabilizing, absorbing, and propulsing foot-ankle".
- Effectively train the "stabilizing, absorbing, and propulsing foot-ankle" for both injury recovery and athletic development.
Enhance your clinical skills, bridge the gap between rehab and performance, and take your practice to the next level.
