Every week, our Food Rescue Volunteers help recover hundreds of pounds of fresh, high-quality groceries that would otherwise go to waste, and get them into the hands of neighbors who need them most.In partnership with Trader Joe’s and other local donors, we rescue over 15,000 pounds of food to support the 6,000+ individuals who rely on the Niles Township Food Pantry each month.
We’ll cover how to safely and efficiently pick up donations from Trader Joe’s and how to properly unload and store items in the pantry.
Whether you're new to food rescue or a longtime volunteer looking for a refresher, thank you for being part of this effort to fight food waste and nourish our community.
