The Joplin Health Department teaches the ServSafe Food Handler course. This course covers basic safe food handling procedures. It is primarily intended for food service workers or those who prepare meals for large groups, but the class is also open to the public. Classes are taught at the Joplin Public Library, 1901 E 20th Street, West Community Room. The cost is $15 per person, cash or check only. There is an assessment at the end of each course. Students who pass the assessment will receive a ServSafe Food Handlers certification good for 3 years. RSVP with the Joplin Health Department at 417-623-6122, ext 1281 or option 7.
