🍗🥧 Thanksgiving 2024 Announcement from the Front Porch at Mags Marketplace 🥧🍗
The Front Porch at Mags Marketplace is proud to provide a space for Warren Ministries United as they embark on their Thanksgiving initiative to serve the community!
🦃 Community Members Invited to a Food Drive!
On November 22 & 23, from 10 AM – 4 PM, everyone is invited to bring food items to the Front Porch at Mags Marketplace. Together, they aim to prepare 55 Thanksgiving meals for individuals and families in Warren County facing food insecurity. Thanks to their collaboration with Warrenton Presbyterian Church, an additional 20 meals will be provided, bringing the total to 75 families served this holiday season! Food Lion will assist in including a turkey or ham in each meal box.
Here’s what the community can drop off:
- Canned Green Beans
- Canned Corn
- Canned Cranberry Sauce
- Fried Onions
- Cream of Mushroom Gravy Mix
- Evaporated Milk
- Mini Marshmallows
- Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
- Poultry Seasoning
- Chicken Broth
- Whole Russet Potatoes
- Sweet Potatoes
- Yellow Onions
In addition to the food drive, Warren Ministries United will hold its annual Community Thanksgiving Service at the Front Porch on Sunday, November 24, at 3 PM. There will be plenty of parking available, and restrooms are accessible! In case of inclement weather, the service will take place indoors.
During the Thanksgiving Service, community members are encouraged to bring any of the food items listed above or a gift card from Food Lion or Dollar General to support this mission. These donations will be used for the meal boxes or distributed later to those in need.
The service will last about 45 minutes to an hour and will feature a message from Rev. Candice White, along with contributions from pastors and other leaders from a coalition of 20 churches.
