The event will include talks from FATSAW members on their current research into Food and Taste. All are welcome to celebrate the launch and find out more about FATSAW.​

Please join us for a wine, cheese, canapé and cake reception (alcohol-free and vegan options available). Room C.103

FATSAW will promote and facilitate interdisciplinary research across the University for academic staff and graduate students with a scholarly interest in the study of food, drink, taste and consumption. The network will be widely interdisciplinary bringing together researchers across the arts and humanities, tourism and architecture, business studies, psychology and social sciences at Westminster who have a research and/or teaching interest in food and eating, even though this may not be their primary specialisms.

Topics of interest can include, but are not limited to:

  • Food, migration and London's diasporas.
  • London's Global Foodscapes.
  • Taste, space and consumption
  • Food tourism, marketing and Industry
  • Food, health and the body
  • Food, gender, class and race
  • Psycho-social approaches to food and eating and eating disorders
  • How the study of food can invite new methodologies and pedagogies.


The Network will host an internal and external seminar series, run specialised workshops, organise networking events for collaborative research across disciplines, strengthen working relationships for mentoring, doctorial supervision and research funding applications.
