The approaching holidays bring reflection to serve those in need. Until mid-December, our Portsmouth and Ironton offices will make and receive food and personal hygiene donations for the St. Francis Catholic Outreach Center. St. Francis C.O. mission is to help families and individuals struggling with food insecurity, clothing insecurity and being able to meet basic human needs.
Much needed items for the food pantry and personal hygiene are:
Cereal
Breakfast bars/granola bars
Soup
Crackers
Peanut butter
Canned fruit and vegetables
Pudding cups
Canned meats
Shampoo
Toothpaste and toothbrushes
Soap
Laundry detergent
Baby wipes, baby wash
Winter months, numerous requests for:
Sleeping bags
Blankets
Hats and gloves
From January-October, 2024, St. Francis Catholic Outreach Center has provided assistance to 11,365 individuals through the food pantry; 1,274 individuals through their personal hygiene pantry; 763 households through their baby pantry; 407 individuals through their clothing pantry; 338 households through their pet pantry; and 562 households through their emergency assistance (rents and utilities).
We are extremely grateful to those who volunteer and contribute towards their mission.
