Following the Light: The Life of Patience Greene Brayton

Join Marybeth Rua-Larsen and John Larsen on Thursday, September 24th at 6:30 at the Carpenter Museum for Following the Light: the Life of Patience Greene Brayton. This presentation will explore the life of Brayton, a local 18th-century Quaker preacher who traveled extensively and was a abolitionists. The presentation will also include an update on the efforts to restore the Swansea Friends Meeting House, where Patience preached.

Marybeth Rua-Larsen is a Reference Librarian and archivist who chairs the Summerset Historical Commission. John Larsen is the Director of the Somerset Historical Society and serves on the Historical Commission. Both serve on the Board of Friends of Somerset Historic Preservation.

This event is free and open to the public. The program will be held in the Tilton Room of the Carpenter Museum. Registration is recommended.
