Join us for a unique learning experience tailored to Wilderness Search and Rescue Air-Scent K9 Teams! All levels of teams will commingle for three days of concept-based tasks with instructors who take the theory and apply in the field with challenging set-ups and scenarios designed to build handler and dog confidence.
Learn how to identify training goals, implement plans, and read the subtleties of changes of behavior so you can Trust Your Dog in the real world. Beginner and intermediate teams will observe experienced handlers working more advanced concepts, while still being able to work the scenario in a modified fashion that will ensure success for their dog, and leave with an understanding of progression. Advanced handlers will learn how to adjust and nimbly react in the moment to support their dogs and push the envelope of what they think is possible.
All teams will be challenged to FAFO this weekend, in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
To meet the goals of this seminar, registration will be application-based, to ensure an appropriate spread of skill-levels.
Easily accessible from Rt 15 and Interstate 70, the William Houck Campground at Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, Maryland offers varied and challenging terrain, surprisingly close to amenities and dog-friendly Frederick, Maryland.
