About this Event
Folktales for New Scots is about community and cultural exchange through local folktales and crafting. A creative meeting place for people from different cultural backgrounds – bringing together New Scots and more long-established Scottish residents. Whether you’d like to get lost in quiet print-making alongside others, or chat with new people and share your culture, this is a space for meeting other locals and being creative together.
Who is it for?
Everyone aged 16+
We welcome New Scots - people with recent migration and asylum experience – and also ‘born and bred’ locals and long-established residents.
What to expect at this workshop (10th June):
• A guided printing-making workshop with Marta Adamowicz and Robert Motyka (Beetroots Collective: https://beetroots.org)
• Scottish folktales from a local storyteller
• A relaxed, welcoming space to create and connect
• All materials included, no experience needed.
Accessibility:
This workshop takes place in the Classroom at the Pyramid at Anderston.
The Classroom is a first floor room, accessible via a platform lift (or via stairs).
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the same floor.
About the workshops:
This is a series of workshops, designed to build on each other.
The workshops are based on creative print-making, with several workshops also featuring Scottish stories told by a local storyteller.
