About this Event
Let’s craft giant hand-held flora and fauna creations inspired by Folk Tales!
As part of Speak Volumes’ Parade, this hands-on workshop for adults invites you to design and build your own street theatre props using wood, cardboard, fabric, paper, ribbon and other found materials. Together we will decorate and embellish playful and sculptural creations inspired by nature and mythology.
📅 Friday, 3rd April
⏰ 6:30pm-8:30pm
📍Arch 28 (The Artery Studios, Workshop Space) Worcester, WR1 3BD
♿ Step-free venue with wheelchair accessible toilet
💡Join the parade! Use decoupage, papier-mache, collage, and other techniques to create a nature-inspired parade prop or character staff. No experience needed.
Your sculpture might be an oversized flower, butterfly wings or a giant beetle shimmering with colour showing curious details from an imagined woodland world. Your creation will form part of the fantastical landscape that parades through Worcester as part of the Festival.
We’ll explore texture, shape and visual storytelling as simple materials are transformed into bold handheld artworks — no experience needed, just imagination and a willingness to experiment.
At the end of the session, your creation will be ready for the Parade (if you’d like!) adding colour, character and movement to the procession. Build boldly, lift it high, and join the story.
Save the Dates: Speak Volumes Festival – 29th, 30th + 31st May 2026
