About this Event
Let’s build wearable wings inspired by Folk Tales!
As part of Speak Volumes’ Parade, this hands-on workshop for adults invites you to design and create your own pair of wings using cardboard, paper and shimmering translucent sheets. Cut, layer and shape your materials into something ready to unfurl.
Drawing from the world of Folk Tales, you can make anything from angel wings, wild bird plumage, delicate insect wings, fairy flight, or the powerful wings of mythical creatures. Are you a forest spirit? A wandering messenger? A trickster raven? A creature half-human, half-legend?
📅 Friday, 22nd May
⏰ 7:30pm-9:30pm (2 hours)
📍Arch 28 (The Artery Studios, Workshop Space) Worcester, WR1 3BD
♿ Step-free venue with wheelchair accessible toilet
💡Join the parade! Use decoupage, papier-mache, collage, painting and other techniques to create nature-inspired, wearable wings. No experience needed.
We’ll explore colour, texture and movement as we transform flat materials into wearable forms — no experience needed, just imagination and a willingness to take up a little more space.
At the end of the session, you’ll be invited to wear your wings and join the Parade (taking place on 30th May), stepping into character and bringing a Folk Tale to life. Strap them on. Stretch them wide. Let yourself soar!
