FNQ Bat Survey and Bat Call ID Training

This training is an opportunity that won't happen again for some time. The training will be very beneficial for anyone who wants to be part of our FNQ Citizen Science - Discover our local bats - project. In this citizen science project individual community members, conservation and natural history groups, conservation volunteer engagement groups including voluntourism initiatives and wildlife/nature tour guides, bat carers, habitat and tree-planting groups, schools, ranger groups, and people intersted in STEM and/or ecology are all welcome
Course Details
Mon 24 - 26 August
9 am - 5 pm* plus evening sessions** (Evening venues tbc, details given on rsvp)

The training will cover:
Introduction to acoustic bat surveys and monitoring programs
Introduction to ultrasonic bat detectors, including
set-up of detectors for survey and monitoring
Using active bat detectors for bat walks and education
Call ID, analysis using Titley Insight and Bat Call Libraries
Bat species of FNQ
