Did you know?Grey-headed flying foxes can hang upside down for hours without getting tired. A special tendon in their leg’s locks into place like a ratchet, allowing them to rest effortlessly.
Join us these school holidays at Laurieton Library for an engaging family workshop exploring one of our region’s most important native species.
Designed for children aged 5–12 and their families, this interactive session includes stories, creative activities and discussion to help build understanding about:
• The important ecological role flying foxes play
• Why they are listed as vulnerable to extinction
• How education helps reduce fear and misinformation
• Practical tips for safe and respectful coexistence
Flying foxes are protected wildlife and a vital part of healthy ecosystems. By learning more about them, we strengthen our community’s ability to live alongside them confidently and safely.
Be part of Council’s Flying Fox Education Program and our lead-up to International Bat Appreciation Day on 17 April.
