FLY Girl Institute Board Member Recruitment Mixer
About this Event
For over a decade, F.L.Y. Girl Institute has been doing something most organizations only talk about: actually giving Black girls and girls of color in Middle Tennessee a place to heal, be heard, and become the confident leaders they already have the potential to be. This isn't a program that skims the surface — it's measurably changing outcomes for girls who are too often overlooked.

We're not asking you to join a startup with an unproven idea — we're asking you to help steward something that's already working, at the exact moment it's ready to grow. We'recelebrating 11 years this year, and we're expanding: the F.L.Y. Girl Summer Experience, F.L.Y. Girl 2.0 META•morphosis, and our newest initiative, the RestorED Project, supporting the Black educators holding these girls up every day in the classroom. We even partnered with researcher Dr. Andrea Joseph-McCatty to publish a report on Black girls' wellness, because we don't just want to do good work — we want to understand it well enough to do more of it, better.
Here's the honest pitch: a board seat here isn't ceremonial. We need people who bring real expertise in fundraising, grant writing, marketing, event and project management, law, medical or mental health work, or education — because those are exactly the skills that turn a good mission into a sustainable one. Your expertise will directly shape whether we serve 50 more girls next year, or 500.
