Flunk Cancer's 6th Annual New Year's Eve Holiday Gala

Our local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Flunk Cancer, is hosting its 6th annual gala fundraising event. This year’s event will be held on New Years Eve at Ironclad Brewery in downtown Wilmington, NC.

Flunk Cancer was established in honor of Shannon McHone, a beloved local teacher who battled brain cancer for nine years. She passed away in April, 2019 but not before spearheading the start of our organization. Flunk Cancer aims to provide educational and financial assistance to teachers and their families battling cancer. Shannon’s vision is the driving force behind the organization’s key values to educate, facilitate, and advocate on behalf of this special community.

Our event is expected to draw over 200 supporters and we are encouraging local businesses to donate their products or services to benefit Flunk Cancer. These donations will be used to support our silent auction while also giving your business recognition at the event. This will include a shout out of your business in our event program and on the organization’s website at www.flunkcancer.org.
