For nearly a century, the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility held the lost, the broken, and the damned. Behind those rusted gates, cries for mercy went unanswered....and not all who entered ever truly left! Locals (and those who have roamed the facility)whisper that when the night falls, the old Pr*son comes alive! Footsteps echo down empty corridors, disembodied voices call from the darkness, and cold fingers brush across your skin when no one's there. Since its closing in 2011, paranormal investigators have captured EVPs (electronic voice phenomena), shadow figures, and unexplainable screams that seem to rise from the very walls themselves. Some say the inmates still walk among us.

MID-ORANGE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY HISTORY:

The campus evolved through multiple roles in the 1900s before becoming the State Training School for Boys in the 1930s, serving as a reformative residential facility for troubled youth. Converted to a medium-security, all male correctional facility in the 1970s; Mid-Orange opened as a Pr*son in 1977 and remained active until the state announced closures and the facility shut in 2011. Since closure, the property has been the subject of redevelopment and conservation plans (woodlands, parkland, and commercial parcels), but several buildings and the campus feel remain--perfect for atmospheric investigations and tours.

Once a State Training School for Boys in the 1930s, the grounds were filled with troubled youth whose cries of reform often fell on deaf ears. By 1977, the site transformed into a medium-security Pr*son, housing thousands of inmates until its closure in 2011. The walls have witnessed punishment, pain, desperation, and despair--energy that many believe lingers in the shadows.
