The Floyd County Elementary Basketball League, a program of Floyd County Parks and Recreation, includes a 1st-2nd Grades Developmental Division for students at the nine New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation elementary schools.This division offers a fun, fundamentals-focused experience where players learn teamwork and core basketball skills. Participants will get the unique chance to represent their school and play alongside classmates, all while developing their skills and love for the game.
KEY DATES
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025 - Registration deadline
Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 - Roster assignments and practice/game schedules will be released via email.
Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025 - Season Starter at Scribner, which will include parent meeting, T-shirt distribution, Photo Day and first practice.
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 - Preseason Jamboree at Scribner, which will include practice and two exhibition mini-games.
Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025 - Week 1 practices and games at Scribner
Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026 - Week 2 practices and games at Scribner
Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026 - Week 3 practices and games at Scribner
Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026 - Week 4 practices and games at Scribner
Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026 (optional) - All first and second grade players and families are invited to attend the Floyd County Championship games for our 3rd-4th Grades Division at Scribner.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
+ This league is open to all boys and girls in first and second grades that are currently enrolled at a New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation elementary school.
+ No tryouts. Multiple teams will be formed as needed. Space is limited, so register and pay quickly to secure your child's spot.
+ Total commitment of six Sundays, including the Season Starter and Preseason Jamboree.
+ Practice and play on the same day, with all meetings at Scribner Middle School in New Albany. Combination practice-games could begin as early as 11 a.m. and as late as 6:30 p.m., depending on the total number of registrations.
+ Non-competitive. All players will receive near-equal playing time. No champion or tournament play.
+ Eight-foot rim-height and 27.5-inch basketballs will be utilized.
+ This league is designed to be a feeder program to our 3rd-4th Grades Competitive Division.
COST
$30 per participant, which includes league-issued T-shirt.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, or until at capacity.
REFUND POLICY
No refunds after the registration deadline.
