Don’t let your summer blooms wilt away! Join the talented Chris Pettman for a brand new pressed dried flowers workshop, just in time to save some of the beauty in your garden to enjoy long after your gardening season ends.
To begin, Chris will introduce you to pressing and drying flowers. She will cover techniques such as microwave drying and traditional pressing using a book or flower press. You'll even get to try your hand at drying a few flowers of your own, so feel free to bring some blooms from your garden to experiment with!
The second part of this class is where things get creative! You'll learn how to turn your dried flowers into stunning pieces of art using large hexagon brass and glass floating picture frames or two 5x7 brass glass floating picture frames.
When the class is finished, you’ll go home with unique pressed dried flower pictures to hang in your home, or to gift to someone special. Works of art to enjoy all through the fall and winter months!
Held in the upstairs classroom of the Gallery, ages 12+ are welcome to register.
Deadline to register is October 20th, but last-minute sign-ups may be possible. Please call the Gallery to verify.
Cost: $30 MAAA Members / $35 Non-Members
Financial assistance from the Jared Sheaffer Scholarship Fund is available for school students if needed. Message or email the Gallery for information.
