About this Event

Join UF/IFAS Natural Resource Agent Bridget Gerovac and Environmental Educator Hayden Mickley to disucss all things Invasive Species.

Florida's natural areas are home to a wide variety of plants and wildlife, but some non-native species can cause significant harm to local ecosystems. Join us for an engaging presentation on invasive plants and animals to learn how these species impact native habitats, wildlife, water resources, and outdoor recreation.

During this program, participants will explore some of the most common invasive species found in our region, learn how to identify them, and gain a better understanding of current management and control efforts. Whether you're a homeowner, outdoor enthusiast, or simply interested in Florida's environment, this presentation will provide practical knowledge and resources to help protect our natural resources and prevent the spread of invasive species.

What You'll Learn:

  • The difference between native, non-native, and invasive species
  • Common invasive plants and animals found in Florida
  • How invasive species impact ecosystems, wildlife, and water resources
  • Current management and control strategies
  • Actions residents can take to help prevent their spread

This educational program is suitable for anyone interested in Florida's unique environment and conservation efforts.

If you have any questions please reach out to Bridget Gerovac at [email protected].
