“Florida’s First Water People – Mound House / Mound Key” will be the last talk in a series of free Calusa Blueway-related programs set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1st, at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers.Adam Knight from the Mound House will discuss Southwest Florida’s first paddlers, the Calusa and how they utilized two of the blueway’s most popular locations.
“I think were extremely lucky to have Calusa sites like the Mound House and Mound Key open to paddlers along the Calusa Blueway,” says Calusa Blueway Coordinator Mike Hammond. “Adam’s wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm bring these sites back to life. It’s going to be a fun night learning about the trail’s namesake.”

All programs in the Caluse Blueway speaker series will begin at 6:30 p.m. and all will happen at Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center.
