The Florida State University College of Music presents the University Wind Ensemble in an evening of dynamic new works for winds and percussion, along with timeless classics. Conducted by Patrick Dunnigan, FSU Director of Bands, the performance features FSU faculty members Marcy Stonikas (soprano) and Matt Hightower (tuba).The program includes three world-premieres commissioned by the College of Music from Jennifer Jolley, Viet Cuong and Thomas Singletary. It also features a performance of “The Meadowlands” by tuba professor Matt Hightower.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The FSU Wind Ensemble is one of five concert wind bands in the College of Music. This exclusive Orlando-area concert is one of four leading up to an invitational performance for the prestigious College Band Directors National Association Southern Division conference in Tampa.
