It's once again time for the Annual Romp In The Swamp!
PLEASE READ TO THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put this together so local mule owners could meet each other. I am not affiliated with any particular group. This is a RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK campout!
Now that that is out of the way, on to the fun stuff!
IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND, YOU MUST SEND ME A PM WITH THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR GROUP, THE SIZE OF YOUR RIG AND IF YOU HIGH LINE OR PEN. ALSO, YOUR APPROXIMATE DAY OF ARRIVAL. JUST CLICKING THE ATTEND BUTTON DOES NOT GAIN YOU A RESERVATION! I have heard from a bunch of you already but it would be good to send me a quick message again if we've talked. I have old brain and don't remember quite as much as I used to! LOL!
There is no cost to attend, but you must have at least 1 mule in your group. Our space this year is a bit more limited. Priority will be given to those with mules as this is a mule ride.
Camping: Camping is primitive. You must bring your own mule containment. High lines and pens are allowed, tethering to trees or stakes is not permitted. There is a pit toilette and water is located throughout the campground. It is non-potable.
The campout will be held once again in the Ashley Campground at Green Swamp West. Overflow will be at the Cumpressco Campground which is only about 1/2 mile away from the Ashley Campground. I have reserved rom Monday the 5th of January through the 12th for your camping pleasure. . This allows you to leave at your leisure on Sunday or leave Monday morning. You may not arrive before the 5th as there is hunting at that time.
Generators are permitted from 6AM to 10PM. (If you have a C-Pap or some other medical necessity, there are plenty of battery options open to you. Please research them beforehand. It's not fair to those that have to sleep in a tent or who enjoy the quiet throughout the night when plenty of options are available. If you need heat, Buddy Heaters are brilliant!)
Friday Activities:
Guided rides will be offered. You may ride on your own at any time.
There will be a meet and greet on Friday the 9th at 4:30PM. Bring an appetizer to share, whatever you like to drink and a chair. There are picnic tables but they're a bit limited and your own chair will be more comfy. The silent auction (on a separate page, announcement in the comments) will end at 10PM SHARP on Friday night to allow us to finish it up in the daylight on Saturday. The auction will be open beginning on Monday the 5th at 8AM so plenty of time for bidding and you can see the items in person on Friday afternoon/evening.
Saturday Activities:
Guided rides will be offered of varying lengths depending on how folks would like to ride.
After riding (or any time during the event) we will place our used tack items out for a used tack swap. (this is different from the auction). Place your items at the front of your campsite near the road so everyone can browse easily.
A potluck dinner will be at 5:30PM at the pavilion. If anyone has any ideas for a theme or would like to donate a main dish, please let me know!
Sunday Activities:
Ride on your own. There will be a devotional at the pavilion at 8:30AM.
The Silent Auction items will be available for viewing at Rebecca's trailer beginning on Friday afternoon. The auction will close at 10PM on Friday this year so we don't have to collect money in the dark. The auction will benefit Fostering Hope Florida.
