The Florida Gulf Coast has always been a hotbed for commercial fishing activity and the Cuban Rancho period of the 18th century was no exception. While the Cuban fishermen that spent almost one hundred years on our coast are tough to find archaeologically due to their ephemeral nature, they are an important piece of the story of Florida's rich history. 🌴☀️
