Learn how to identify and control insect pests in your vegetable garden and garden beds. Presented by the UF Dept. of Entomology.
About this Event

Spend the day sharpening your insect pest identification skills and learning effective ways to manage garden pests. As your knowledge grows, so will your ability to observe what is in the landscape. By understanding what is normal and expected, you'll be better equipped to notice unusual insects, identify invasive species, and contribute to the early detection of serious pest threats in our community.

Florida First Detector, presented by the UF aims to increase the role of volunteer network and residents in early detection of invasive pests of agriculture, nursery industries, and natural areas.

This FREE workshop includes presentations on invasive insect pests & plant diseases, sample submission instructions to UF Insect ID Lab and Plant Diagnostic Center, and other collection tools. There will be lots of hands-on activities, as well!
