Florida Climate Week

We invite the Broward County community to a special event focused on protecting our environment. Learn practical steps to reduce your carbon footprint, practice environmental stewardship, and build a healthier, more vibrant community.

Main topics will include:

• Learn how partnerships involving the public, private and CBOs (including nonprofits and faith-based institutions) can help find sustainable solutions for community restoration that include composting, altering consumption patterns, increasing outdoor activities and volunteerism, and other strategies to lower our collective carbon footprint
  
• Physical and mental well-being strategies for coping with the multiple climate impacts that our South Florida communities face that include extreme heat, flooding, the prospect of catastrophic hurricanes, tornadoes and other climate change weather related events
  
• Community outreach and educational opportunities targeting the general community, but especially young people
  
• Learn how engaging local government to further resilience and sustainable policies
