Join us for a family-friendly 2-day, 2-night guided program designed to immerse ourselves in the wilds of central Florida for a weekend that will include cave exploration, guided hikes (including a night hike), live animal encounter, campfire program, survival skills, tent camping, astronomy, and good ole relaxation around the fire under a stary sky. Enjoy meals prepared in cast iron and over an open fire as we share local folktales and native legends. Explore the sandhill and high pine ecosystems in the Withlacoochee State Forest and crawl into karst limestone formations, including the Lizzie Hart sink and several incredible caves. Your expert guide, Damon, has more than 30 years’ experience leading trips in this forest. This program is intended for families with children. Instruction is geared toward older elementary and adolescents to adults, though younger children are welcome to attend. Several meals will be included with limited dietary accomodations available. Tents and sleeping gear are not included, but can be provided for an extra fee.
While this will be an adventure-filled weekend, there will still be plenty of time to sit back and enjoy your family and new friends on the trail and at camp.
Cost: $225 per family (1 adult & 1 child)
+$75 extra for each additional adult
+$50 extra for each additional child
