Step back in time and explore Mesquite’s ranching heritage through hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and interactive history!
Perfect for summer camps, homeschool groups, daycares, and mom groups, these child-focused field trips offer a fun and engaging way for students to experience life on a historic Texas ranch.
Groups will explore the historic Florence Ranch Homestead, originally built in 1872, while learning about the daily lives of early Mesquite families and the region’s cowboy heritage.

Groups typically spend approximately 3–4 hours onsite enjoying guided tours, activities, outdoor exploration, lunch break, and free play. Timing and pacing may be adjusted slightly to best accommodate individual group needs.
Programs are designed for groups of 10–40 students and are best suited for elementary-aged children.

- Minimum group size: 10 students
- Maximum group size: 40 students
- At least 1 adult chaperone required per 10 students
- Admission is $10 per child
- Teachers admitted free
- Portions of the program take place outdoors, so please plan accordingly for the weather
