Mae themmau ei gwaith yn cael ei hysbrydoli gan ei taith ymchwil i Eglwys Santes Margred yn Modelwyddern , syn cael ei adnabod fel Ye Eglwys Farmor a wedi defnyddio delweddau yr eglwys ar daith yna i greu arddangosfa syn delio gyda themau o dwyll gweledol a'r tensiwn rhwng arwynebedd a sylwedd.
As part of Storiel's 10 year party and the official opening of the summer exhibition, we are pleased to present the mid Wales based artist Erin Hughes to the gallery to discuss her work Floored // Flawed .
Drawing inspiration from a research journey to St Margaret’s Church in Bodelwyddan – known as “The Marble Church” – Hughes explores themes of material illusion, architectural grandeur, and the tension between surface and substance. The exhibition is accompanied by a commissioned documentary-style video, an exhibition text, and a series of workshops and talks that invite audiences into the tactile, process-driven world of her practice. Floored//Flawed is a celebration of ersatz beauty and the transformative potential of handmade materials.
