Floor Talk & Artist-Led Workshop with Si Yi Shen (MOUNTAIN NO MOUNTAIN)
Join artist Si Yi Shen for an immersive morning of conversation, creativity and hands-on making inspired by her MOUNTAIN NO MOUNTAIN practice. Begin with an intimate Floor Talk, where Si Yi Shen shares insights into her artistic process, themes, and current work, inviting questions and open dialogue in a relaxed, gallery-based setting.
Enjoy a refreshing morning tea before moving into an artist-led workshop, where participants will explore creative techniques and ideas drawn from Si Yi Shen’s practice. Designed to spark curiosity and experimentation, the workshop welcomes all levels of experience.
The workshop invites participants to step outside the gallery to observe the sky and surroundings, using mirrors or phone screens to notice shifting shapes, colours and textures, then sketch their observations on the spot.
Back in the gallery, these studies transform into imagined landscapes through hands-on collage, using limited printed images and techniques of disrupting, copying, removing and distorting. Work closely with the artist, individually and each other in this exploratory session.
