After a busy summer season of concerts the band focus is now firmly on the "Nation Brass Band Championships of great Britain ". This will take place at Cheltenham racecourse on Sunday 14th September.As part of our contest preparation we are holding an open rehearsal at Flookburgh village hall.
This will be on Thursday 4th September from 7.30PM-9.30PM.
This year we are playing a set test piece by Arthur Bliss Arranged for brass band by Michael Halstenson entitled:
Music from 'The Royal Palaces' featuring Queen Victoria's call to the Throne, The Ballroom in Buckingham Palace, Joust of the Knights in Armour, Melodrama: The Murder of Rizzo in Holyrood House and The Royal Palace Theme.
This is FREE for anyone who would like to come and hear the band in a rehearsal situation as our MD John Iveson puts us through our paces.
Bring your own refreshments and pull up a chair. We will also be having a retiring collection for the band funds
