Help Bring the Magic Back to the Stage for Shawn Austin
When the Sandy Creek Floods hit, Stevie Nicks tribute artist Shawn Austin lost everything. Her RV—packed full and ready for the Texas Renaissance Festival—was swept away with everything she owned; handcrafted costumes, band equipment, irreplaceable performance gear…
When we visited her, Shawn was devastated. She stood amid the wreckage, picking through debris, hoping to find even a fragment of what was lost. Her boyfriends home, what was left of it, was lodged between some trees. Her RV… gone.
“It just doesn’t seem real… I put everything in that RV! Most of my outfits and items were handmade or vintage. As far as my music equipment and my circus tents, fur pelts and fur coats… those things may seem more luxury than needed but they were part of my characters I perform. It’s really upsetting because most of my stuff I bought at auction and most were vintage. My fur coats, top hats, silver jewelry, body armor, leather boots, drums—all vintage, all gone. I’m a musician—I can’t buy things full price… they were all my collector’s items, and now they’re just gone.”
We are organizing a benefit for Shawn on September 6th, and are calling on our creative and compassionate community to help us surprise her with a new costume or two.
✨ She is a size 4, and we're looking for bohemian, vintage, or Renaissance-style pieces—or materials that could be used to create something truly magical. ✨
Donations must be received by August 31st to be included in this special tribute.
