FloLab is part of the fight against the gentrification of Hip Hop in the Bay Area.Too many real culture spaces have been pushed out, watered down, priced out, or replaced by spaces that want the look of Hip Hop without the people, politics, struggle, skill, and community that made it. FloLab exists to push back on that. This is a weekly home for real Hip Hop in the Bay—where MCs still sharpen their pens, where the crowd still matters, and where the culture is still in the hands of the people.
Every Wednesday, we bring together artists, writers, listeners, and the community for a $300 rap writing contest, open-mic energy, and a room built around substance, style, and truth. You do not have to rap to come. Pull up, watch, vibe, and become part of a growing community that refuses to let Hip Hop get colonized out of the Bay.

For each beat, write one verse per beat. Hooks and choruses are okay.
For the best chance to win, memorize your verses.
