✨ First Sunday in Jun, Jul & Aug ✨
A Floating Soundbath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience combining the buoyancy of water with the soothing power of live instrumental sound. Ingleton outdoor pool is surrounded by nature, being next to the River Doe encircled by trees
Tickets are £36 per person
Book via the link or visit fellbeing.com
What can I expect?
You do not enter the water and will be fully dressed, in your comfy clothes, with layers so you stay cosy. You’ll be supported onto your float (the size of a double mattress) by one of our team who is in the water. They’ll hold the float steady on the side of the pool whilst you get yourself on. Once you’re ready the float will be pushed out into the water. I welcome you to bring a blanket and pillow. Eye masks are provided for optional use to support withdrawal of the senses. Our support team will be on hand throughout the soundbath if you need to re-adjust or exit the float for any reason.
Lauren , founder of Fellbeing, is a qualified Yoga Teacher and Sound Healing Practitioner. She’ll begin with a short guided meditation before transitioning into playing the gongs, crystal singing bowls and chimes. These instruments have been selected due to the healing nature of their frequencies and sounds which slow down brain wave state, allowing participants to access a deep state of relaxation between wakefulness and sleep, known as Theta state. Hear a little taster here.(
).
The soundbath will last for around 1 hour. You’ll then be supported by our team to alight from the floats.
What should I wear?
Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes. You will be fully clothed for the soundbath. Layers are best so that you can take on/off as needed to be a comfortable temperature. I recommend wearing warm socks.
What do I need to bring?
I welcome you to bring a blanket and, pillow. Eye masks are provided but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. You can bring a water bottle with you onto the float.
I haven’t known anyone to fall in, but I suggest bringing a spare change of clothes and towel (just in case!).
Safety - Who can attend?
The pool is 3 metres deep so you MUST be able to swim. The risk of participants falling off the float is mitigated by:
~ The floats are the size of a double mattress so there is room to move.
~ Assistance from a lifeguard in the pool when getting on/off.
~ Floats are inflated well ahead of time to assess for slow punctures (we have spares too!)
~ The pool being well maintained.
The pool is heated. There are 2 lifeguards onsite during the event.
Children aged 12 and over may attend if accompanied by an adult. I trust you to use your discretion as to whether your child is of a maturity to respect the relaxed and tranquil nature of the event, so as not to disturb the experience of others.
Sound healing is not recommended for those with a pacemaker, sound induced epilepsy or severe mental health conditions.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Lauren by email or telephone: [email protected] or 07842703362
Lockers are available for use (at your own risk) to store your personal possessions during the event.
Weather and Cancellation Policy
Bookings are non refundable. At the host's discretion, in unforeseen circumstances, bookings may be transferred to a later date depending on availability.
In the event that the weather is unsafe to carry out the event at the outdoor pool, an alternative indoor pool may be arranged. This will be within a 5 mile radius of the Ingleton Outdoor pool. Any changes will be communicated to attendees by email and text with 24 hours prior notice. Refunds will not be issued if an alternative local venue is arranged for the event to go ahead.
If the event is cancelled for any reason, you will be issued a full refund and as much notice as practically possible.
Finding us and parking
The pool is located near the centre of the village, in the riverside park down the hill from Ingleton Youth Hostel (LA6 3EG) on Sammy Lane.
