FRIDAY, JUNE 19 - WARM-UP TOURNAMENT
Doors @ 5pm, tournament @ 6:30pm
4 rounds qualifying - 2 game banks (one classic and one modern) : top 50% make finals. Finals is a 3 strike tournament alternating between modern and classic games
SATURDAY, JUNE 20: MAIN EVENT Group Matchplay (3 Game Banks)
doors open @ 10am, tournament @ 6:30pm (estimate 7.5 hours)
5 rounds qualifying on Saturday - 3 game banks - top 50% up to 24 make A finals, remaining players make B or C finals (all finals will be played on Sunday)
Qualifying Format: 5 Rounds of 3 Game Banks Group Match Play with 7/5/3/1 scoring. You play 3 games with the same 4 players each round. 1 Classic Game, 1 Mid and 1 Modern Game. You play each of these games one at a time. Automatic Tie Breakers turned on and will be used to break all ties with the exception of ties for a bye or to qualify (bye and qualifying tiebreakers will be played on a randomly selected classic game). Match Play Software is used. Top 24 players (or top 50% if less than 48 total players) with the most accumulated points move onto A finals. Players who do not qualify for A Finals, will qualify for B Finals or C Finals depending on final qualifying position
Finals Format (all finals are played on Sunday):
A and B Finals = 3 Games Group Elimination (PAPA Format). Players are seeded from qualifying and broken up into groups of 4 players. Top seed gets to pick games, one from each of 3 categories (one modern, one mid and one classic) and also order for game one. Remaining order selections for game one are made in order of qualifying seed. For game 2 and game 3, order is chosen in reverse order of finish on the preceding game. Each Group plays their 3 game bank with 4/2/1/0 scoring. Top 2 Players advance Bottom 2 eliminated. Goes from 16 to 8 to 4 players. Final 4 will play their 3 games for the final placement of 1st-4th.
C Finals: 3 strike group knockout
Tiebreakers will be played for top 4 positions on a randomly selected classic game.
SATURDAY, JUNE 20 - CLASSICS 10 Strikes Progressive Strike Group Knockout; Open @ 10am; 6:30pm Tournament Start (or whenever Main Qualifying Ends
This Knockout Tournament is a 10 Strike Tournament played in groups of 4 (3 when necessary) on the Classic Machines.
Random Seeding to start, then Swiss Style. Games drawn randomly.
4 Player Matches: 1st Place No Strike, 2nd Place 1 Strike, 3rd Place 2 Strikes, 4th Place 3 Strikes
3 player matches (as needed): 1st Place No Strike, 2nd Place 1 Strike, 3rd Place 2 Strikes
2 player matches (as needed): 1st Place No Strike, 2nd Place 1 Strike
Once a player has 10 (or more) strikes they are out of the tournament
The tournament continues until there is one player remaining.
Tiebreakers will be played for top 4 positions on a randomly selected classic game
No playoffs or finals.
SUNDAY, JUNE 21:
Doors @ 9:30am, tournament @ 10:30am
MAIN FINALS @ 10:30am - A, B, and C finals
A & B Finals: PAPA Finals 3-game banks (mid-modern-classic)
C Finals: 3-strike
WOMENS Tournament @ noon
Format: Group Matchplay (2 Game Banks)
6pm Projected End Time (estimate 6 hours)
