Target Audience:
Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, & Other Clinical Healthcare Providers
Objectives:
At the end of presentation, the participant will be able to:
- Differentiate patient history for acute spinal pain vs chronic spinal pain.
- Describe and intervene in any side effects, adverse effects, precautions and monitoring of pharmacological interventions specific to spinal pain.
- Identify warning signs the need to refer to spinal surgeon when previous pharmacological modalities have failed.
- Ability to diagnosis Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
- Identifying proper Medic*tion management of MDD.
- Recognizing when to use adjunctive Medic*tion treatment.
- Identifying proper antipsychotics as adjunctive medications for MDD.
- Review the focuses of Palliative Care.
- Discuss when to get Palliative Care involved.
- Describe common symptoms alleviated by Palliative Care.
- Discuss medications commonly used for Symptom Management.
- Familiarize with the CDC’s Core Elements of Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship.
- Differentiate the class and method of action of various medications used to treat different Orthopedic diagnoses.
- Identify and apply concepts for initiation, monitoring and discontinuing medications used to treat Orthopedic disorders.
- Describe and intervene in any side effects, adverse effects, precautions and monitoring of Pharmacological interventions.
- Interpret recommended infectious disease diagnostic and laboratory test results.
- Identify appropriate antibiotic treatment options for common outpatient infections.
- Implement antibiotic stewardship strategies in their practices.
- Review the history behind the development of low-dose CT scan as the only acceptable form of lung cancer screening.
- Differentiate between those patients that qualify for screening and those that do not.
- Recognize the importance of screening from an outcomes-based perspective.
- Recognize what symptoms/conditions disqualify a patient from participating in lung cancer screening.
