Join us at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve on Tuesday, November 18, from 1:00-5:30 pm for a free educational event about monarch butterflies. Each fall monarch butterflies pass through our area during their 2,ooo mile long migration to their overwintering grounds in Central Mexico. Over the past 25 years, Reserve staff along with volunteers have routinely captured, tagged and released monarchs as part of Monarch Watch’s Citizen Science program to understand the dynamics of the migration through a mark and recapture program. We invite you to join us to learn and celebrate this beautiful creature.
